I’m Zoe, a vegetarian (and now mostly vegan) chef. This is a blog containing my eating and cooking adventures across the globe, including recipes I have collected along the way.
Daughter of vegetarian parents, I am a lifelong vegetarian and grew up learning to cook in their vegetarian bed and breakfast in Brighton.
My cooking has been inspired by my travels and I am often found hovering around local kitchens and persuading the chefs to teach me their tricks of the trade. Food is a powerful way of connecting and understanding people and I love collecting recipes and the stories behind them.
I started this blog after I left a stable 9 to 5 job (a decision that filled me with fear) and became self-employed. I took the Cordon Vert chef’s diploma through the Vegetarian Society, which led to my working as a chef on a yoga retreat in Greece for 4 months (many of the recipes here include dishes that were enjoyed by guests on the retreat). Since this I have moved onto sharing my passion with others through healthy cookery sessions and master classes, which range from healthy baking, international cuisine, family cooking, vegan hacks and bread baking.
Currently I am based in London and you can find me at the Bonnington cafe where I cook on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of the month. I teach in various community settings, including Made In Hackney , Brighton and Hove Food Partnership and the Healthy Living Platform. I also run private cooking sessions, so please contact me if you would like a bespoke class for yourself or your friends and family.
